About Remote Learning

The Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) Remote Learning Program follows the Alberta Program of Studies and is led by Alberta-certified teachers working closely with students and their families. Through ongoing learning activities, timely feedback, and assessment, we ensure students and families have the resources they need to be successful and a clear understanding of their progress toward meeting grade-level learning outcomes.

The remote learning program depends on active participation and ongoing collaboration between the parent, student and teacher. Through regular communication, we can ensure that the absolute best learning opportunities are made available to your child and that we can deliver the best possible remote learning experience.

PWPSD Remote Learning will continue to be offered in the upcoming 2021-22 school year for families who feel online learning is a good fit for their learner(s) from grades 1-9.  High school students should register directly with Peace Wapiti Enterprise Centre to access an alternative high school program.

Families are encouraged to pre-register by completing the PWPSD Remote Learning Intent form. Families will be contacted by email with further instructions for program orientation on August 25th, 2021.  If an email is not received, please contact 780 831-8357.

Students currently registered in the PWPSD Remote Learning Program for the 2020-21 school year will automatically be enrolled in in-person learning at their designated school for the 2021-22 school year.

For children who receive additional learning support at school, at this time we are unable to commit to continued support from additional personnel, such as Educational Assistants, for the 2021-22 Remote Learning Program. We encourage families to speak directly with their designated school regarding any potential implications to their child’s program.

Any families who indicate their intent to move to Remote Learning will have the option to return to in-class learning by contacting their school by August 25, 2021.
